美國總統川普13日在白宮接受一名印度記者提問時，抱怨對方「口音太重」、「我一個字也聽不懂」，直接打斷對方、跳過提問，影片在網絡上瘋傳，引發撻伐，不過也有許多川粉認為他很誠實。
綜合新德里電視台（NDTV）、印度斯坦時報（Hindustan Times）等報導，川普13日在白宮接待來訪的印度總理莫迪（Narendra Modi），雙方舉行共同記者會，記者會上川普接受一名印度記者提問，該名記者用英文表示，印度人會「歡迎」美國將2008年協助恐怖分子犯下孟買連環恐攻事件的巴基斯坦裔加拿大人拉納（Tahawwur Hussain Rana）引渡至印度，這起恐攻事件釀成166人死亡、數百人受傷。

不過該名記者話才說到一半就遭川普打斷：「你要講大聲一點。」

這名記者隨即又重複一次提問，不過馬上又遭川普打斷：「他說的話我一個字也聽不懂，是口音問題，對我來說有點難。」
川普接著跳過這名印度記者，轉而接受下一名記者提問。
川普抱怨印度記者口音的情形受到印度媒體報導，網絡上也瘋傳這段影片，引發印度網友炮轟川普「不放棄任何羞辱印度的機會」、「蔑視」印度，也有印度民眾表示，川普藉由侮辱印度記者來逃避提問。

不過許多美國人及川粉認為川普講話雖然殘忍但「很誠實」，有人回應「工作上經常有這種感覺」，或是申請「技術支援」時，也都有同樣感受。
事實上這並非川普頭一次公開抱怨外國記者口音，2月初以色列總理尼坦雅胡（Benjamin Netanyahu）訪問白宮、與川普召開記者會時，川普也打斷一名阿富汗記者有關塔利班的提問，「你的聲音很美妙、口音很美，唯一的問題是，我聽不懂你說的任何字」。
